The world and everything in it is being strained to the breaking point...strained to the point of transformation. It's our being brought to a point... closer to contact with our essential nature, to the truth of our own experience. --Tom Hurley

You are Brilliant -- and the Earth is Hiring:
An excerpt from Paul Hawken's 2009 commencement address at the University of Portland: "There is invisible writing on the back of the diploma you will receive, and in case you didn't bring lemon juice to decode it, I can tell you what it says: YOU ARE BRILLIANT, AND THE EARTH IS HIRING. The earth couldn't afford to send any recruiters or limos to your school. It sent you rain, sunsets, ripe cherries, night blooming jasmine, and that unbelievably cute person you are dating. Take the hint. And here's the deal: Forget that this task of planet-saving is not possible in the time required. Don't be put off by people who know what is not possible. Do what needs to be done, and check to see if it was impossible only after you are done." The full text of the inspiring address follows. [more]

This is incredible. It perfectly captures what I want to do with my life. Thanks for this - it made my day and I hope I remember this every day of my life.

Beautifully said and very inspiring message.  If we all would just take a few moments each day to enjoy all the universe has given us-imagine the possibilities!

In times when you just think of giving up with just two or three  semesters to graduate this message appears.  Don't give up hope.

On May 29, 2009 Ron Anstis writes:

Paul is accurate and well-spoken in his comments, and insists on hope in his requests to the "now" generation. It is a shame that we who have gone before have left the mess for this generation to clean up, and it will not be done unless large numbers of people think alike and act alike, not for their own good but for the good of life. Paul's audience at the Uni. would, no doubt, be converted, each and every one, to his beliefs. Some thirty plus replies on this forum show similar feelings (please excuse "reality check"), so let the ball keep rolling. We do not have the right to do otherwise

Well done, Paul!

What an inspiring message!! This is exactly what the world needs to hear to move in the right direction. More faith, more encouragment, more pride in doing the right thing.
