Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
--Martin Luther King, Jr
An 8-Year-Old's Compassion:
It's no "Harry Potter," but 8-year-old Joshua Bayer's book about monsters is getting much attention around his hometown of La Plata. Joshua wrote and illustrated "M-M-M-Monster!!!" to raise money for animal rescue efforts. Two stores are selling the self-published book (courtesy of his mother) to help his cause, and his parents have set up a Web site to assist with the aspiring author's debut. "He never gives up," Deni Bayer, 37, said of her son, a rising third-grader who spent much of the summer working on the book. "For him to sit still this long, any of his teachers will tell you, is a big deal."
