honouring the individual at the cost of the community is killing us.

it is high time we reverse the trend. Let us invest in family, neighbourhood, community and so on in an expanding sphere of wellbeing.

I volunteer at a local nursing home. There is a lot of loneliness in these brick building which hold our loved ones. We all have to get more involved in taking care of our elderly. They have so much knowledge and life experiences to share with us. Some just want their life validated. They want nothing more than to talk about their life.

One day I would like to see every nursing home flooded with volunteers so that not a single person is alone. Not only will we make their later years full of joy, but we may even learn a thing or two.
