Amaru, a 5-year-old rescue dog, is a regular on bus trips with Mo Mountain Mutts in Skagway, Alaska, a dog walking and training business run by Mo and Lee Thompson which has around 237,000 followers on Instagram, and 1.3 million followers on TikTok. The internet has fallen in love with their videos, showing the dogs boarding, greeting the others, and climbing onto their seats. It started about six years ago, when Mo and a co-worker began walking each other’s dogs. Word spread rapidly in Skagway and in 2016, Mo left her job to make more time for dog walking. In 2021, Lee began tagging along on daily pack walks. Business boomed and eventually, they swapped their van for a bus. “It’s the dream,” said Mo. “I can’t believe this is what we do for a living.”
