Solar panels to be installed on a Vatican-owned property outside Rome could generate enough power to supply all of Vatican City’s energy needs. The construction will take place on Vatican property which is currently used for broadcasting Vatican Radio, and will combine renewable electricity production with the needs of the underlying agricultural land. “Humanity possesses the technological means to tackle this environmental transformation and its pernicious ethical, social, economic, and political consequences, with solar energy playing a fundamental role among these solutions,” the Pope said.
