They don't over- or underestimate their skills. They're not wildly inconsistent. Constantly trying to please everyone can cause you to put up false fronts, bury the authentic you and lead to burnout, Mautz says. Setting healthy boundaries that allow you to take care of your needs brings better balance, more confidence and the ability to help others in a more authentic way.
