Through personalized care packages, 21-year-old Aaliya Martinez from Altoona, Iowa, delivers positivity to strangers on their bad days. It started last February on Martinez’s TikTok when she posted a video introducing the project that received close to 400,000 views. Her care packages consist of items like self-care products, makeup, stickers and stuffed animals. She makes and sends out 15 packages a month, paying for the supplies and shipping herself. Right now she has more than 30,000 requests from people all across the US. She randomly picks recipients from all the Google Forms submissions. “I want people to not feel alone, that I hear them and see them, and that I really care,” Martinez said.
