EU Parliament Votes for 60% Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cut by 2030

In 1990, the European Parliament voted for a climate law committing each member state to be carbon neutral by 2050. There has now been pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 60% by 2030. Pascal Canfin, who raised the proposed target, is convinced that this will get the EU council to up their game. Others are concerned this could lead to a stalemate.
