Most questions people ask are good ones (but not all), writes philosophy professor Marcello Fiocco. As an example, he points to how teenage TikTok creator Gracie Cunningham was mocked in a video posing questions about whether or not math is even real. While many made fun of her, "others came to Gracie's defense, including professional mathematicians, scientists and philosophers.... For not even they, the savants, knew the answers to her questions," Fiocco writes. He goes on to say, "The world we all share is propped up by unexamined presuppositions. This might be fine if one could be satisfied with the world as it is. The least bit of reflection, however, would likely prompt anyone to want to do better." And it we want better, people "must be able to inquire freely and navely," he writes.
