Social fridges have spread across Poland to address the number of people going hungry this year. Each of these locations is slightly different, some offering space for other items such as clothes and non-perishable foods. In 2017, Jan Piontek and his Give Help (We Pom) charity started these in Wroclaw, and the social fridges have spread across the country. There are now 17 of them. Some cities, such as Ld, have not only adopted the idea and begun placing community fridges around the city, but have created new charities to keep them running and delivering food to those in need.
