The Boy Scouts of America started accepting girls as Cub Scouts in 2018 and in 2019 admitted girls into their flagship scouting program. Overall, 140,000 girls have joined. The first class that includes female Eagle Scouts is being honored in a virtual ceremony and is a major milestone. This is a powerful moment for these young women, for all Eagles Scouts and for our nation, said Jenn Hancock, the Boy Scouts of America's national chair for programs. People recognize Eagle Scouts as individuals of the highest caliber, and for the first time, that title isn't limited by gender.
