Amazing 9-year-old Zoe Oli is an entrepreneur with a purpose: She seeks to help Black girls like herself feel beautiful. When she was little, she said, she came home from her mostly white elementary school and asked her mother why her hair wasn't pretty and straight like her classmates'; the hair of her second-grade classmates cascaded down their backs. When I was 6, I had a lot of problems accepting myself, and I didn't like my hair. Their hair grew down. Mine grew out, Zoe told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Zoe's mother went on a quest to find dolls that looked like her; she could find the skin tone, but she couldn't find a doll with curly hair like Zoe's. So they created Beautiful Curly Me, which manufactures beautiful Black dolls with curly and braided hair. At nine, Zoe is a CEO and author of two books that are full of affirmations showing Black girls how beautiful they are.
