For the past week, businesses in the Canadian town of Listowel have been embroiled in a war of words via business signs. The sign war has captivated local residents and people around the world. It started with the owner of Speedy Glass challenging the owner of Dairy Queen to a sign war -- via his business's sign. All kinds of local businesses have been jumping in, including the local funeral home, whose sign says, Sign War With Us? Grave Mistake! Also jumping in are the Methodist church, fire department,and auto and pet wash, among others. All joking aside, one resident wrote on her Facebook page, This #signwar has been a blessing for this community! Helping small businesses be seen in this trying time while also giving our community a reason to laugh and come together again.
