Seventy-eight-year-old Vivian Cunningham, a grandmother and great-grandmother, fulfilled a lifelong dream when she graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., on May 8, 2021. She was a single mother of two in the 1960s, working to support her family at Alabama Power Company. When she retired in 1992, the company offered to reimburse her tuition, so little by little she worked toward getting her college degree. "I would like to tell all the viewers that if you have a dream, and you are passionate about that dream, pursue it. Don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done," she told ABC News.
