In an effort to live up to its reputation for being clean and green, New Zealand plans to ban most single-use plastics by 2025. Per capita, the country is one of the top 10 producers of waste in the world. The ban will be phased in between 2022 and 2025 and includes cotton buds, bags, plates and bowls, straws, cutlery and fruit labels. it is expected to reduce landfill waste significantly.
