A Two-Eyed Seeing program that honors different ways of gleaning knowledge is the result of efforts on the part of the Government of Yukon, University of Alberta North and Yukon University. It will focus on weaving together Indigenous and Western approaches to knowledge. Daqualama Jocelyn Joe-Strack, a citizen of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nation, has been named chair of research. Joe-Strack told the Yukon News she is "committed to taking a whole-person approach to research, decision making and social transformation." Her duties will include revitalization of storytelling and watching over the Yukon First Nations Climate Action Fellowship.
