Meredith Loewenstein is a 16-year-old skateboarder from Southern California, US. She has predominately been surrounded by male skaters all her life. With such a male-dominated sport, however, she states that she receives incredible support from her male friends and that the sexism that she faces usually comes from outside the community. This signifies a change in skating culture -- that it has become more accepting of different genders.
