WE LEAVE WHAT EVER WE DON'T NEED BY OUR TRASH BIN'S WHAT WE CALL SAFE FOOD, WE SHARE! I HAVE FRIENDS LIVING IN THE U.K. WHERE COMMUNITY FOOD GARDENS ARE ON THE SIDE WALKS, AND SPARE LAND IS ALSO USED FOR THE SAME PURPOSE. THIS IS SO SIMPLE LETS ENCOURAGE BY SPREADING THE WORD AND ACT ON IT.ALSO COMPOSTING HAS TO BE ONE OF NATURES BEST WAY FOR THE HEALTHY GROWTH OF ALL VEGETATION.ONE SIMPLE METHOD EVEN WITH A POT OF HERBS IS TO CUT UP BANANA SKINS AND DIG THEM INTO THE SOIL,TEABAGS, OPEN THEM UP AFTER USE AND SPREAD THEM. COFFEE LEFT OVER FROM YOUR CAFETIERE RINSE OUT AND WATER PLANTS WITH IT, ALL HAVE COME FROM OUR EARTH, ITS CALLED PUTTING BACK!WE MUST VOICE ALL OF OUR PAST WISDOM IN TODAYS WORLD. THIS PLANET WAS CREATED BY OUR GREAT MAKER, FROM THE DUST CAME LIFE IN ALL THINGS. WE MUST DO THE SAME

It is high time we became sensitive to our fellow humans' hunger and realise how little we have to change / sacrifice to remove the hunger scrouge from this world. In Kerala an excellent vegetable preparation is made from Banana Peel (banana species is called Nendran) after the core raw pulp is used for wafer manufacturing. The peel is a high fibre low calorie food item with other active ingrdients like vitamin C, Niacin etc.
we have a study on number of recipes/ vegetable preparations out of the banana peel. In Mumbai city alone 10 tonnes of banana peel is thrown as solid waste to be disposed by the Municipal authorities. We are trying to promote the project as a waste to wealth project to feed the poorest. Not much success.

Indeed shameful. One can say it is as much a crime as war crime.Humanity has lost its balance of mind and is leading towards self destruction. Hope we realise our mistakes and be more human and sensible.
