B'enam: Ecological Textiles

Many of us don't give much thought about where our clothes come from, or who made them. Even if an outfit is handmade, who made the fabric? And the dye? And the thread? Were people paid fair wages? And what happens to byproducts leftover after production? Here we are introduced to B'enam and Co., who make ecological textiles in a responsible and empowering way. Watch part of the process used to make one shoe, and then meet some of the team.
Be The Change

Follow B'enam and Co. on Facebook.
2
When you purchase clothing, consider buying from ethical sources. Or shop resale stores and give good outfits a second life.
3
Instead of throwing out used items, donate them. Clothing that is stained or torn can be recycled as rags. Jeans and shoes can be made into new items. Many animal shelters will happily take your old bedding.
