The Well of Being

The Well of Being is an exquisite 'children's book for adults,' one that encompasses the journey of life from the Big Bang, to this very moment that we find (or lose) ourselves in.  Jean-Pierre Weill spent three years writing and illustrating this book about himself-- and perhaps everyone. Playful and profound in its approach to the human condition, Weill's words and whimsical drawings reveal the multiple ways in which we create narratives about ourselves and the world, and then proceed to confine ourselves within them. Why live in the cramped quarters of anxious self-doubt and unsettled expectation when there is a way out? All it takes is remembering. Remembering that we are already possessed of that which we seek, and that within us lies the unstinting well -- of being. Watch and be enchanted by this gorgeous animated version of Weill's timeless book.

I bought this book about a year ago for a dear friend going through many challenges. This book is a true gift to all!

Beautifully simple, light, and flowing, it so compassionately encapsulates how our stories shape our world, and the grace of waking up, letting go, and finding more peace and joy..)

I bought this book several years ago when my well of being was bone dry. It lifted me up and helped me gain perspective and I’ve gone back to it again & again. I love the illustrations and the words of wisdom. Today my well was depleted and it is wonderful to hear the author read his words. Thank you so very much Jean-Pierre for sharing your gifts - we are blessed!

It brought me home. To remember that my circumstances are not my well being and to dip into that deeper well that is my Source. Thank you, Jean Pierre.
Catherine
Thank you so much for sharing this. Speaks directly to the issues I am looking at right now.

What inspired you about this video? It is my story! I am awake this moment and all is well. Now I practice staying awake in a world that like me falls asleep. When I am asleep and under influence of my ego I act and think quite crazy. There is no use trying to interact with me. I love this book and video. It expressed truth and inspired me to stay sane. Thank you!!!!!!

When you stop the story's and ask God is there something there in meditation? I will sit here for one hour lord please show me. After one hour the I experienced something that one calls bliss. This bliss is the goal of life and it comes from drinking the substance of God from the inside and quieting the mind. Practicing Oneness, helping others and eating healthy is a good foundation for bliss consciousness.

The explanation of the beginning of material creation is not very insightful, so I felt disappointed from the start. Then I felt the reference of the Holocaust and the 9/11 was insensitive considering he did not have a balance of a strong resolve - he just used a throw away catch phrase that says nothing to those who don't understand. I think the comment was an insult to the complexity of all of that trauma and would put those who dont understand that complexity at odds with his choice of words. I dont think it helps to diminish every experience that occurs in this process of material life and have to make it into an air-headed romanticised soujourn. The need to do so says to me that this author isnt in a space of wellbeing, but maybe personal trauma and he has to escape into cliches to process it.

We have forgotten, or had it stolen by a broken world. We need such reminders that prompt the memory that lay in our hearts. }:- a.m.

It was unspeakably magical and a beautiful way to express the truth of who we are. I love it.

I quote:"Ever look up at night and feel small? Don't. Instead feel large. Atoms in our bodies trace to the remnants of exploding stars. We are Stardust. We are alive in the universe. And the universe is alive in us."
--Neil deGrasse Tysson, in "Cosmic Queries" (2021)
P.S. To realize this is the beginning of feelings of 'oneness,'of compassion, and the end to our adversarial approach to the world. In short, we have gifted, even blessed ourselves, with "well-being," which is our birth right.
Doris Fraser
It's simplicity and economy of words. What a BLESSING !!!
