Find Beauty in the Ordinary

Beauty is all around us but we often miss it, don't we? The act of paying attention seems rather simple and yet most of us are asleep at the wheel. Our habit is to be lost in a trance. Thinking. Planning. Worrying. So how can we find meaning in our lives when we are repeatedly lost in our own thinking? The poet Annie Lighthart writes to help herself and others to see the beauty in themselves and the world. A beautiful place to start is to pay attention. To live is to observe. To experience the fullness of life is to put oneself into the fullness of life. To embrace the wholeness of this journey is to lift your head, squint your eyes, wipe your heart of bias, and look. And in the looking, we might be profoundly changed by not missing a thing and embracing all of it for what it is - beautiful pieces of life in both the brokenness and wholeness of everyday life.

I am so profoundly grateful for this beautiful extraordinary woman & her amazing insights. As a child very psychic - I too a rose bud. Told an odd ball-crazy & ugly. At 77 I see her beauty as I see mine. Her eyes say remember. In mega chaos now: Bigger the chaos bigger the change - I am led by the music of Beauty: ONENESS. I pay attention more and all is well. What inspired me about this video is it's message which is simply portrayed with her poems, her way of sharing them, the amazing cat movements, the earthiness, and the water. It was so many beautiful, yet ordinary things to find pleasure in. Thank you for my mindfulness moment of finding beauty in the ordinary awareness of our humanity. I will share this and hold onto it, as I teach "Breathology to Heal the Divides", reminding us of our beauty in the many diverse ways we show up. Beautiful we all are and thanks for this reminder too.
