I've been dying to see this for a long time! Ecology is magic. My friends have one of those large tank composting toilet systems in which they have 'buried' a few beloved pets over the years. Maybe for my last walk I'll visit them. It fits right in with reincarnation. Thanks. -

Green, or natural, burial is readily available throughout the U.S. (www.greenburialcouncil.org). Many cemeteries designate a section for green burial, and some are exclusively dedicated to this type of interment. It is not necessary to compost a body before placing it in the ground as natural decomposition will take place on its own, as it does in nature. -

I participated in a "green burial' many years ago, but was told it wasn't readily available for normal people. This lets me know that it's possible, and I can request it in my living will. I've never understood the necessity of embalming a body and burying it. I agree with Whitman, that I'd love to be transformed into soil.

I have always felt that if my body could be dropped off at the top of a mountain without being eaten by animals and just fall apart and join the earth, that’s what I would choose. This is just that! What inspired you about this video? Our human form(s) aren't designed to be wasted on formaldehyde or other toxic preservatives as we arrived from a living being so it is the similarity of the human form returning to replenish the soil and re-birth another form of life!

The speaker, Katrina Spade was dynamic, and I could tell that she believed in what she was saying and doing to help us/others transition as we should naturally after we die. I have always admired Native Americans for returning back to the soil or retreat into a cave to die as Spirit wanted them to. I hope I can get the address to the recompositing site in Vermont. -
