Arron Jones-Williams knows what it means to wait for a home that might never come. Moving from foster family to foster family throughout his Ohio childhood -- once left in a garage while his hosts celebrated their biological son -- he learned early that stability is never guaranteed and that some hearts remain stubbornly closed. Now, through his Jersey City-based company Rescue Treats, he personally bakes all-natural dog treats and funnels every profit to shelters rescuing dogs who face the same uncertain fate he once did. "It's about making this vehicle where even decades from now we're still funding rescues and this was built from sweat," he says, running the bakery alongside his work as a business analyst. His journey from commodity to community builder reveals how those who've been overlooked often see most clearly who else needs to be found.
