23-Year-Old’s 9-Day Live Stream Raises Over $68 Million for Children Fighting Cancer

A 23-year-old Polish streamer stayed online for nine straight days after a TikTok post's engagement determined the length of his broadcast -- and what began as a goal to raise $130,000 for children fighting cancer became a $68 million movement that shattered world records. Piotr Hancke, known as Łatwogang, kept an anthem on repeat throughout the marathon: "I'm Still Here," a rap diss track aimed at cancer itself, recorded by an 11-year-old patient named Maja who declares, "If you suffer from cancer just like me, this song is for you." As celebrities joined, heads were shaved in solidarity, and over a million viewers watched simultaneously, the fundraiser transcended its digital format to become something Poland experienced together. What remains most striking is the organizers' insistence afterward: they asked the media not to celebrate the money, but to spread the message that "cancer is not a death sentence."
