MacGregor, a former Army helicopter pilot turned singer-songwriter, burst into tears on the spot. The neighbor hadn't known about the divorce or what the running meant-she'd simply witnessed someone moving through something and decided that was worth acknowledging. "I just want to let you know how proud I am of you," she told her, words that arrived at exactly the right time from someone who had no way of knowing they were needed.
