For 19 years, Joshua Schneeloch watched other children leave a German orphanage with their new families, quietly asking himself what he had done wrong. Every day, he prayed with his rosary for one thing: to meet his father. More than five decades later, a DNA kit, a genealogy search, and a single phone call led him to Arthur Colbert - a man who had served in Germany in the late 1960s and never knew a son existed. When they finally met in person, Joshua placed that same rosary around his father's neck, returning the prayer to the one it had always been meant for. "The biggest fear you have as an orphan is to be pushed away," Joshua said - and what makes his story so quietly extraordinary is that, after 55 years, not one person in a room of 60 relatives pushed him away.
