What begins as a sleepless night in a new city becomes something neither woman could have anticipated. Heidi Widmer moved to Los Angeles to start over after a divorce, only to find herself annoyed by a noisy upstairs neighbor - until she learned that the thumping was the sound of an 85-year-old woman with Parkinson's disease simply trying to live her life alone. When Widmer asked Carole what would have happened if she hadn't come along, the older woman answered without hesitation: "I would've struggled until somebody did." That quiet reply holds something worth sitting with - not despair, but a kind of patient endurance that millions of strangers, moved by Widmer's videos, instinctively wanted to answer. Widmer herself may have said it best: "I wouldn't say that I've saved her. I'm just helping her out. But yeah, she's definitely saved me."
