I anticipate the chaotic cruelty of the Musk/Trump administration harming millions (it’s already started) and destroying “life as I’ve known it” in regard to our environment, ability to respond to disasters, being a source of peace and goodwill in the world, and our being a functional Democracy
Yet right now, I am safe, secure financially, healthy and live an active life as a Citizen not a Consumer. Like this beautiful article reminds me- I can SEE what may be (or already is) happening and yet enjoy the reality of the Present Moment. I’m spending many moments in my day paying Attention and putting Intention into this dual experience of reality.I feel more able to embrace the Suffering in our world AND embody the joy and beauty in and around me.

I appreciated this article and also Susan Starkey's reflection on how this applies to the current Musk/Trump administration. I'm wondering where taking action to resist falls into this plan. Is this in the "change what I can" category while ignoring the stories we tell ourselves about the outcomes of those actions? I'd love to hear other readers' comments

I am finding some release from the current administrative chaos and the harm to so many by volunteering and protesting.

Well done Ruth. I'm with you, from Oxford UK.
In the article I particularly liked the distinctions between what's so and my story about what's so. It's a brilliant distraction to play that game rather than sit a worry!
