I really liked your comment!

The choice is certainly important. The point here is - are we aware that we are making the choice? We could draw our lines differently and have very different experiences. Do we know that we free to change our lines? On a meat slaughterer being a vegetarian, there is an unclear thinker on ethics. Why put oneself in a position that violates one's ethical code? Of course, a higher level question is why do I feel this way, and do I realize I'm the one placing these judgments? If so, do I want to continue placing those judgments? The emphasis here is not on the specific judgment we make, but that we make the judgment from a space of truth - that we are free to judge, and not helpless, and we have chosen, for whatever reason, a particular path. That awareness of freedom is what allows us to call what we do "our choice." From this perspective, there is no contradiction anymore - desiring to be better is an immortal quest for mankind, and without love as a means, that quest is going to remain mired in mediocrity.Free will is one of those oxymorons :). The moment you have willed, you are bound, and are no longer free.

Would love to hear further thoughts.
