I would have to agree with the author. I spent 4 years in India running a Computer Education center in a tier-4 town in India. This town had no Tech Industry, English Literacy was at best poor or lacking, General knowledge and education was spotty at best. It was very difficult to get students motivated to join and excel. Even though we have a defined literacy level, it seems education has to transcend to knowledge before we can take technological tools to improve the levels of poverty. Education at Primary level needs to motivate the Inquisitive minds of the students towards acquiring knowledge rather then memorizing it.
