Our little guy is a Roots of Empathy volunteer and I think the program is great. I can't speak to the effect on the kids outside of the half hr once a month we are there. However, I can say that I was amazed at how engaged the majority of the kids are. I thought there would be some gender split (boys might not be interested and girls might be), but I was definitely wrong. There were even older boys that would stop in the hallway to try to make the little guy laugh. On our end the program has taught us things about growth and development, which we didn't know about otherwise. He also loves going to the class and warms up pretty quickly so that by the end he is really excited. This is definitely one of the best decisions we have made in the early months of his life and will be something we talk about for years to come.

Me too. Isn't is wonderful what some people have the courage and passion to do?
