Excellent point! What I say is that you get good at what you practice. This becomes your strength. Unfortunately you often don't practice the counter strength so that you have options when a situation calls for something different. (Being forceful or assertive is wonderful except when being laidback is a better option.) Put another way - your strengths are what have gotten you as far as you have come but they now they are in the way of helping you go farther.
