Sometimes, just the realization that the dreamland I thought was real just suddenly gave way to something more palpably real. Not always pleasant to awake to that, but better to be dis-illusioned ultimately. And then other times, there's not even time for such reflection, and instead, it's just the stream of thoughts about practical places to be and things to do -- and it's time to put on the coffee and get going. Occasionally though, there's a more immediate sense of the privilege of being alive, and the response-ability to enter into the day with a grateful heart of service.
