The distinctions between artist, teacher and preacher were very helpful for my getting some words around my job as a "preacher". I have always approached my "sermon" preparation from the perspective of congregant--what would I like to receive or experience about this...I would often write/take notes in the pews during the week rather than imagining myself presenting from the front. Today I'm inspired to think of my preparation and even presentation as an artistic process offering an opening for personal meaning for those present. Thank you.
