I find myself uncomfortable with the description of the reconciliation of the "rational" and "spiritual" aspects of mind. This sets up an idea that rationality and spirituality are in opposition. I think it would be more accurate to say that poetry utilizes the primary two aspects of mind - the rational and imaginative, in order to express and convey the spiritual.
Spirituality transcends and includes rationality and imagination.
