Sep 9, 2005-- Bud Philbrook and Michele Gran opted out of a honeymoon cruise to spend a week in a rural village in Guatemala. After the local newspaper wrote a story about their unusual honeymoon, people started contacting them asking how they could plan a similar trip. In response they established Global Volunteers to provide people with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children around the globe. Since then, they have sent almost 13,000 volunteers to 25 countries and eight states in the United States. (2444 reads)
