"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does."
—William James
In what was a life-changing and potentially life-saving experience, a young stranger saw a car rolling backwards, chased after it, and was able to stop it right before it would have rolled into a busy thoroughfare. Terry Hill was only four years old when her father left her and her two younger siblings in the car while he ran into a shop to pick up donuts. Her younger brother Mikey got behind the wheel, and while pretending to drive, somehow moved the gear shift into neutral. They started rolling backward. That’s when the young stranger appeared. In a moment, "He just saw what needed to be done and acted immediately," she said. "That made a huge impression on me for my whole life."
What is a story of someone who took an action that made a difference in the lives of others. Maybe it was you? It need not be as dramatic as stopping a rolling car. Share the story with someone, and how they/you made a difference.
