Let's not forget about animal rights as well. The same mentality that keeps women down also justifies the abuse and enslavement of animals. And trashes the planet.
As far as I'm concerned, peace (and non-violence) begins with the fork.

We don't have to abandon Christianity as our faith ("throw out the baby with the dirty bath water") because the religion and institutions have given us a very wrong picture of God, Who is LOVE. Instead, we must surrender to LOVE and "become" instruments of restorative justice along with other people of peace.
