It transports me to decades ago when this was not so unusual. My Great-Uncle Tom was a doctor in the 1940s through 1960s. He accepted many different forms of payments including chickens and produce.♡

Very, very cool story about Alice Foster and even more incredible that you actually lived with her, even if briefly. "From High on the Hog to Hog Farm" would be such a great article title :)
