i,ve come to the habit of morning walks . Unlike the canopy of peace found in Thoreau's woods however , here there are the obscenities of vehicles , streets , aircraft , and the hum of the highway. Behind those distractions there is the vista of snow covered mountain peaks , the music of birdsong and the friendly wave of neighbors in passing cars. Underneath the veil of distraction there is a peace that can be found through acceptance and gratitude . It is there where my walk occurs along with the pattering feet of two small dachsunds and the heart opens to it's own set of woods . Beautiful and real here in this moment.
