This author is highly concerned with his status, and that is what gives him this insight as he is able to step back momentarily to reflect on his self and others. As a philosopher I would have appreciated getting to the root of this apparent need for superiority, but perhaps he is leaving that to the reader as teacher often do. Still a very nice article.
