If the children of the haves and the have-nots realize what is really important, there will be less suffering all around. Yes, we all need and are entitled to enough food and clean water, an education, a home and sufficient clothing. Material possessions, prestige, and power are impermanent, yet losing these things, which is inevitable, is the cause of a great deal of suffering. So, for whom should we have more compassion?
