Thank you so much Gail. Interestingly I am trying most of those practices, with varying levels of success. I currently do daily meditation, practice mindfulness, and keep a gratitude diary. I think it's going to be a long process though. With blessings, Meg

investing money 1000s of miles away is not a solution. Capitalism just returns for the next takers event, then depletes again that which is built up by others. Think of the pattern-"bad" hoods where artists rent, clean it up and then are forced to leave as rent rockets up, Think of the nameless pioneers who did the hard work so the railroad builders and bankers could move in, How US dumping cheap corn in Mexico and how similar practices were used against the people of Haiti and Jamaica. Farmers couldn't sell their own produce and left the land becoming cheap labor for us corporations to move in and take advantage of "conditions." (Industrial revolution closing of commons, USA small farmers..see the pattern?) Until we formalize full circle accountability entities like Acumen are only fire starters. They look like they are doing good now but at what real costs? Is this another set up? What is to keep the takers from ruining other land and causing more poverty, more migration. Scarcity rocks business right, prices go up when "market demands"
Bandages are not solutions. Yes immediate problems need addressing but if the history of the problem and repercussion patterns are not examined and changed ...you are whistling in the wind. We can make a true difference once we recognize the patterns and connections and realize over there, here, you, me , life ...planet is all connected, alive and we need to act in that whole space of conscious beingness.
