In order to be grateful and willing to accept our gifts, we must decide that we want these in the first place. We also have to be in the position within the "network of give-and-take" which is a privileged place to be. Not everyone could boast such a forgiving, all-inclusive love-in. Sometimes I am grateful for the privilege of an opportunity the universe arranges for me in order to be helpful to another person. I am grateful when I can pass along a gift as long as I am willing to accept whatever comes in exchange. Otherwise, it's like the gift that no one wants being re-gifted and force-fed to another person who had no want or need for what I have. And sometimes I just have to be honest and say, "I'm sorry; I can't accept your gift because I'm not ready." To me, that's true Common Sense.
