One must be fond of people and trust them if one is not to make a mess of life. --E.M. Forster

An Experiment In Trust:
As an experiment in human trust Paul Bellis Jones, 24, left a note with his camera near the summit of a picturesque mountain, Mount Tryfan, instructing walkers to take a picture then leave it for the next person. He was keen to know if the camera would be returned to his home as per his instructions, or if it would be stolen instead. This article describes the result of his unusual experiment. [more]

Be The Change:
This short passage by writer-physician Rachel Remen talks of the ways in which we each can help restore trust in others. [more]

I am a dailygood fan. Reading the inspirational quotes every morning is something I look forward to; however, this is the first quote I disagree with. I think trust is an essential bond between people that must exist if there is to be any emotional or psychological substance in the relationship. Getting to my point... I think the quote undermines the importance of self-discovery and self-worth. I think you must be happy with who you are with or without other people. You cannot rely on someone else to "complete" you as an individual; however, I do recognize and appreciate the fact that people are by nature inter-dependent creatures. We all need human interaction, but that level of interaction is different for everyone.

I was sitting here contemplating why this doesnt sit right with me either and you hit on the head. Sometimes people have to learn trust also.

It also might work on a mountain, but do the same thing in central park and things would be quite different

IF ONLY I CAN

If only I can return the past,

Since the day I was born, I will make it;

If only I was taught proper theology,

And sound soteriology, when I was younger,

Disordered life would not have been my life,

As though uncertain where to go.

If only the beauty of life I understand earlier,

My life will have peace & harmony --

Yes, I am not what I am now today.

Very well, You knew, my life is much in trouble;

Since my youth, mountains & hills I climbed,

Oceans & seas I hold back;

I did not experience true joy in the rock,

Transitory happiness is all I obtained;

I have known no true friend --

They’re just good when they need something;

They’re just good when benefits are for them

 But if, I am needed no longer, they’re all gone.

 So grateful, before it’s too late, You charmed me;

Before it’s beyond repair, You called me,

You first loved me, then, You gave me

Wisdom to understand Your precious Word;

Faith to glean salvation by Your endless Grace.

Help me, please, have mercy, O my true Friend,

To start a new life harmonious to Your Will.

Only in You, O Eternal Father,

I have found real joy & happiness so pure;

I have seen Your power & glory in Nature.

LORD, I believe, You will lead & guide me ever;

Inward peace, You will give to me, O GOD, forever.

I look straight ahead in You with honest confidence

Where I am truly secure, now and forever...
