Meditate Like a Marine:
The moments just before deployment can be highly stressful for those in the military, but a new study published in the journal Emotion finds that meditation improved mood and bolstered working memory -- the short-term memory used for managing information, controlling emotions, problem solving and complex thought. By just meditating 12 minutes a day, the Marines were able to boost their scores on mood and working memory evaluations. [more]

I appreciate and commend Dr. Amishi P Jha for conducting this research on Mindfulness and showing the benefits of practicing regularly Mindfulness Meditation even for a short time.

I teach and practice Mindfulness Meditation. Those who practice Mindfulness Meditation in the sessions expereince significant changes in thier physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Studies like the one done by Professor Amishi are very welcome and beneficial for all of us who expereince chronic stress from living sressful life and develop physical and mental problems. We can prevent them by learning and practicing such simple technique of meditation.

The majority of people use only a minute fraction of our brain's capacity. Imagine if we tapped into that the massive unused portion, the abilities available are invaluable and immensely healing. As meditation becomes more mainstream, society will flourish with strength, adaptability and a less burdened by the by daily stressors. Meditation is a gift, that is free and available to everyone who opens themselves up to it. There are many methods of meditation, making it easier to fit each person's needs.
