One of the casualties of the Indian Ocean tsunami could be the Aceh conflict in Indonesian which has claimed 15,000 lives over its 29 year history. Indonesian troops are withdrawing in exchange for Aceh separatists laying down their arms, a compromise that was unthinkable before the tsunami. The peace accord also calls for a truth & reconciliation commission to be established to help heal the wounds of the war.
