This short documentary tells the story of Title IX through the eyes of Wendy, daughter of the amazing Patsy Takemoto Mink, a Japanese American from Hawaii who became the first woman of color elected to the U.S. Congress. The film shows her difficult mission to co-author and defend Title IX, the 1972 law that transformed athletics for girls and women for generations in America. Having met obstacles at so many turns for being a woman and for being a woman of color, she turned those rejections into a determination to make a difference in the world by changing laws that prevented women and others from living freely. This film is a reminder to never take for granted that one person can change the world.
