I don't agree that what the author is saying is that it must be done in a homeschooling environment only.  Teachers like you are becoming more and more rare, and really, it shouldn't be your total responsiblity to raise our children.  I also disagree that parents don't have time/ability to educate their children this way.  That is a terrible excuse for not taking this thoughtful approach to raising our kids. These are (or should be), in my humble opinion, the fundamentals of raising our kids!  Having children is a big decision and with that comes a mountain of responsibility - to raise them to be well-functioning, contributing individuals in society.  Parents don't have to dedicate day and night to only their children - obviously most of them cannot do that - but when their children are in their care the things that the author was discussing can be easily integrated into daily life.  Cooking dinner, driving to the store, etc. - everything that we do can be, and should be, a teachable moment.  I don't understand how people don't get this!
