The US population is about 300 million. I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that more than 300 million people around the world would move to the US, if allowed. Are you saying that if the population of this country suddenly doubled, there would be no overcrowding anywhere? Do you really think this would create harmony and peace? Now imagine them all living the lifestyle to which you have become accustomed, to which americans feel entitled. Imagine the environmental consequences of that.

"You must be the change you want to see in the world." Try out this "peace and harmony" thing by brining an undocumented family the same size as yours into your home to live with you starting this Thanksgiving. Check out that no overcrowding anywhere idea.

If that doesn't seem appealing, why not give 10% of your income to organizations which improve the standard of living of people in their own countries. That's my approach.
